From what I saw when I imported the Faggio from IV to Zmod, I think it'll be just a matter of moving and linking dummies and stuff like that. It's just that I find Zmodeler to be a bit clunky compared to 3DS Max.

Ahh. Haven't played that mission yet, although I did notice a child in the opening FMV. And another thing: It'll help if you put some moar characters for Tommy to beat up besides the ones you included.

I lol'd hard when you included the girl. One problem though: the boxing platform had some major collision glitches, as Tommy and whoever he's beating up has their feet clipping through the ring.


 




Oh, and was the kid ped an unused model left over from the intro FMV?

Doesn't sound like a promotional vehicle to me. If Illusion didn't initially plan on making Mafia a present-day game then it might have also been some asset from another game that was either in development or scrapped.

Tried spawning some of them hidden vehicles like the Toyota, and from what it seems I think they either intended to use it for another game, used it as placeholders or debug objects, or perhaps Mafia was originally made to be set in the present day.

I'm converting the model in Max as of now, will let you know if it works 'swell ingame.

It was a mostly straight port, as I only made some material changes (i.e. paint colour slots, etc.) and damaged body panels, among other things.

At the moment, no. Zmodeler's a pain in the ass for me to use as I'm accustomed to Max. You can rely on me if you want to have it converted to San Andreas, though.

This usually happens when you come across a cobblestone or a dirt road ingame, i.e. the roads leading to Joe's place or something like that. You can also do that in your joypad's driver settings - if you have a cheap Chinese-made joystick or PS2 adapter, it can be changed via the Vibration Test tab by moving the slider to zero.

Yep, I'm also looking forward to that, too. It is possible once you know how the format was built, and Oleg seems to be considering the game in his ZModeler3 pipeline, but I think the main reason for the lack of progress in the formats is that practically no one is working on hacking it ATM. Even if they do they'll just work on extracting/ripping them and then port them to some other game.
