What I tried to say is that it was only a rumor.




Neither company, not 2K nor RSC ever confirmed this.


 




What I only read once that a 2K representative on their forum said there was no collaboration between them.


 


 


 




Though I hope it's true.




I mean 2K is not that bad I think.




Of course they kept 75% of the content away from it's final release but besides that, it doesn't make me not enjoy what they delivered after all.




Gameplay is in my opinion quite well. Physics are awesome, graphics look great, and many details are much appreciated.

So even if 2K is collaborating, I give them a shot and have a good feeling about it. If they are human, they only do what they are best in which the other is not.

2K announced that the rumor of them helping Rockstar and vice versa is not true.




And it makes sense. 2K and RSC are competitors... not collegues...


 




Funny thing was, 2K only denies the collaboration between them two. but not the development of Mafia 3 as they don't speak a word of it.

2K Is indeed not very fond with supporting mods.




When I sent that letter to 2K asking for M1's SDK tools, I received a short reply mentioning they weren't interested in participating. Though they did wish me luck with future work, but I never received any further response of what their opinion was about the Titanic Mod. Sometimes I doubt the letter got into the right hands.


 




But that, including the hardness M2's data is to crack, I doubt M3 will have possibilities to be modified.


 




A big shame as in my opinion, I think the LS3D and the Mafia II engine both are fantastic engines with great possibilities and awesome graphics (LS3D for it's time of course)




I am very glad that the core community is till this very day releasing new tools to modify Mafia!

Yesterday I wrote a topic about impressive modding tools. But they were all written in Russian language.




It's fantastic to hear you are going to release this tool! I am looking foreward to it.


 




I downloaded the CHE tool and it also seems extremely usefull. But again I cannot understand a single manual nor button. I would be very gratefull if you could describe how to use it!

The problem with all of these tools is that there are non existing characters for my computer.




Many russian symbols are not inside my database, and thereby all of these symbols get replaced by questionmarks.

God, I even found more interesting tools on MafiaPub. Example, facial animations tool, animation converter, lightmap creator, effects editor...




It seems that all of the missing tools I needed for the Titanic mod are now found! But they are in Russian... All of them.


 




I'll start a seperate topic about it, hopefully it will get some attention to have someone translate it.

Regarding the guy who's working on the road.bin editor.




I noticed this screenshot on some website linking to (I guess) his page:







 




Besides the awesome effect of a set path for vehicles and pedestrians, I also noticed an interesting lightmapping effect. Causing shadows and color reflections. I wonder if that's just a baked texture onto the model or an actual game lightmap!


 




Back to the road.Bin editor, I did found a bit smaller tool to create these, and it seems to work. Not sure how to handle it though.

Though the tool doesn't look too complicated I can understand that one is making a tutorial for it.




I'll play around with it some time.


 




The screenshot to the road.bin editor looks very impressive! It can sure be a revolutionary tool for mafia modding. I'm glad these kind of tools are still being developed.

Hello, I'm back again!


 




I wasn't sitting still during my vacation and couldn't resist doing some work for the Titanic mod.




Ofcourse I didn't bring along my computer, but I did use a notepad and a pen to write and finish the entire main storyline:







 




47 sides of paper are written containing precisely 500 lines of Dialog.




With this done, The mod's progres get's a huge step foreward.


 




Since I'm back, Me and Hudizzle already got some nice new footage to show.


 




Me a finished clock for the aft GSC.







 




and Hudizzle some impressive work on the verandah and palm court cafe's walls and windows:






















 




And I also made an unfinished concept drawing, It shows the confrontation that will take place ingame between Tommy & Paulie against the main villain Wilkinson.


 




The Renault can be seen finished inside the broken crate.

This would kind of defeat it's purpose.




The main reason I make this mod is to give people the ability to explore a detailed 3D representation of the RMS Titanic. All for no charge I must add.




With that comes a storyline merged with the Mafia game.




If I would rush these models and not make them accurate, in my opinion I may not claim this to be "One of the most detailed and accurate 3D replicas"




I would also had to put Hudizzle from the team as he has a great love for accuracy and detail. It would be the dumbest decision in this whole planet to do that as he is the best help I could ever wish for with the Titanic models. He ain't gonna make unaccurate Titanic models, and so ain't I, it is too unmotivational.


 




Keep in mind that the actual definite modelling and scripting started in 2010. Before that it was a long learning progres. see this video for example:

So all progres that has been made since 2010 will be used in game, Virtually you may consider the mod's progres time to 2 years. And I repeat, only virtually.


 


 


 




Besides that I have some news to report.




It is that time of the year again where everyone deserves a little break.




Today I will be going on vacation for 3 weeks. So no updates will be posted in the meantime.
