Thanks a lot everyone for the kind comments!

Last few days I have been correcting issues to the exterior model. Like small glitches and such.

So now I have to export the whole exterior again

But the result will be far worth it! the models will be more optimized now, and will make it possible for Djboskosz to bake lightmaps onto it.

Also soon you all will be receiving some first glimpses of all A deck interior rooms placed ingame.

Mafia Mod Request / New Mod Question

In Zmodeler, make a copy of the model you want to be visible at far distance and add ":1" behind it's name.

Example: Object "bridge" will be duplicated into "bridge:1"

The name is not really importand, only the ":1" part which means this object is visible at 1 LOD distance far away.

To summarize, you'll need a near and far distance model.

I believe with Djbozkosz's 4ds manager you should also be able to modify LOD's But I need to experiment with that first.

I have something very good to report.

Do you remember this image I posted in my first post on this topic?

Well, with a little help from a certain guy on this forum who coincidentally posted right above me the same scene now looks like this   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/tongue.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/tongue@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

Alright, now in English to be a little less vague. Djbozkosz who we all know from his impressive modding tools and his Boz mod has joined Titanic mod's team!

He will be mainly focusing on (as you may have noticed) the overal graphics and visuals of the mod.

As seen in the images above, the ocean now is much more realistic, the sunrays are better and the skybox is way more improved.

Yet to add to this scene is the 3d wave mesh for the ocean and the ship's wake. Plus some smoke from the funnels to name a few.

Djbozkosz will also be working on sectors (to give interior it's own lighting, and to optimize the scene) and lightmaps and probably anything else that requires just that bit of programming experience he posesses.

A good thing is that not all work will now be put on Asa's shoulders as he will be working on the mission programming like the cutscene's and such.

*sees a whole new future for Titanic Mod*

This is not a little epic, this is awesome! (also your 4ds converter, great job! I hope textures won't crash using your tool)

Oh whow, that sounds very interesting and helpfull!

Does the human converter mean you can import your own created and rigged characters ingame?

There already was a method before of placing new NPC's ingame, but the models could not be rigged, resulting in that the arms and legs had to be seperate objects in order to be able to move. And this caused some visible cracks in the model.

I'm glad we got you on the modding community, I was affraid all programmers were long gone (not talking about mafiascripters of course  " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">  )

Btw, I have sent you a PM regarding a certain question   " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

Looking through your video's and screenshots.... 2 words: Holy Shit!

These improvements you are making just set an increddible atmosphere while even looking at it. I just love the autumn trees in the city with the yellow leaves on the road. bravo!

But also the rest of your improved plants look great, the reflection technique you are applying is clever, low demanding for PC's, and awesome looking! and the rest of the effects... I mean, screw enb series, this is a true visual improvement.

I second Mike Bruski, it really makes me want to play the game all over again with the new visuals and features.

I can't wait!

Btw, I do notice some diffrent projects like the improved graphics, factory mission, subway, and mountain passage. Are all these diffrent projects or will they be combined into one download?

Update!

Today I finished another addition to the aft GSC: The Aft Reception Room.

This room took some time to model as practically everything differed from the "honor and glory" style.

The walls are white and furniture is diffrent.

For the paneling texture in the corridor leading to the A La Carte Restaurant (next on the list) I used actual photographs of remaining parts of the Original RMS Olympic. The corridor floor has been changed to carpet to match the attached restaurant in the meantime but wasn't rendered yet.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone!

The next thing I'll be working on is the B deck part of the aft Grand Staircase with it's adjoining 1st class corridor leading to the forward GSC.

I will apply a few tricks ingame to save most CPU and GPU's from exploding   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

adjusting the level of detail ingame will have high effect as I will create some far distance models and let smaller items dissapear.

Also a few loading screens should avoid a laggy game.

And for a little extra, Installing gamebooster can easily increase a few FPS.

Nothing to worry about, as long as my computer doesn't blow at least   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/tongue.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/tongue@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

Updates updates updates!

Sorry for the silent days, I had to do some short deadline work for something else.

Here are a few another renders from the Aft Grand Staircase corridor leading to the Lounge:

Notice the seamless connection to the exterior model and the expansion joint that crosses the corridor.

and also the script file has been fully digitalized, I already received many audio files from several voice actors!

Also some other drawing I came across that I made 2 years ago, it shows me and Kyle standing at the forward Grand Staircase:

Kyle also has done some more work in the meantime. See how the Verandah and Palm court are now being furnished. What a detail!
