My Magnum Opus, I have been more than a year at this and I have more to go.

It is built off of the First Capoletti Mod, but the story has changed....so its not exactly a sequel.

Capoletti 2 Don Of Lost Heaven.

A sequel, or completion to Capo Mod 3 Capoletti Family. The story changes, gets filled out to make sense.

The year is 1939, when both the Saliery and Morello Family fell in Lost Heaven, a vacuum existed that was soon filled by six new crime families. Some of these families were local grown like the Capoletti and Manucci Family who had existed under the thumb of Saliery and Morello as vassals, and some seeded by the Families in New York. It was thought that one family would succeed in taking over everything, but after a bitter year long war a fragile peace was accomplished giving space in Lost Heaven for all six families, a peace, that seems doomed to fail. You play as Nico, son and Sotto-Capo to Don Capolettiâââ¬Ã¦who by rights would have retired by now. Its up to Nico to secure the Familyâââ‰â¢s place in Lost Heaven and perhaps become Don Of Lost Heaven

The game is a basic freeride game with lots to do, places to go interesting things to explore and accomplish. When you are ready you can start the mission portion of the mod which includes

[ul]

  • The Commission Meeting

  • Dam Don Picoli

  • Ring the Bell On Manucci

  • Boccili's Hostage

  • Salucci's Salvation

  • New York Disconnect

[/ul]

Example of a Don Mission

There will be an addition 30 side missions

Each of these levels is more complex and difficult than the last ending with the destruction of the Last Don, Maranella In New York City. There will also be a visit to Sicily to handle one of the other Dons

I've gotten a lot done, but there is lots more to do.

Mafia General Discussion / A song I wrote about Mafia II.

It took me a year to get over that game....not because it sucked so bad, but because it could have been so GOOD!!!! You could see the original genius in the game design, and if the Czechs had been allowed to finish it, it would have been every bit as good as we hoped it would

LOL at the song!

Me....I am on the next train out of dodge,

Because maybe not tomorrow or the next day....they are going to start thinking about my reliability....and my loyalty....and their ass behind bars....and it won't take long before I am looked on as a liability.

Before I end up in someone's trunk....I am outta there.

As I thought this game would grow on me as I played it

Wanted to give an update, now that I am a few more hours into the game

Over all impression 8 out of 10 Stars

The game runs a little sluggy, but that may be my vid card more than the game. After making some adjustments it runs a little smoother

My Ratings

GraphicsÃâà 8 (Mafia 2 was 10)

Details 10 (Mafia 2 was 8 )

CityÃâà 10 Damn thing is huge

Action 4 This is turning out to be a much more cerebral game of investigation with some action interspersed

DrivingÃâà 6 (Mafia 2 was 8 )

Story 9 (Mafia 2 was 4)

Notables... The whole game can play like a freeride, while driving from place to place one of 40 missionsÃâà can pop up of regular police work. Every game seems to want to have notable features, Mafia 2 made a big deal of destructible surroundings, this game has it as well, their big puff point is facial expressions, which are really rather good.

Searching for clues is pretty standard, but the interrogation feature is really nice, and you have to pay attention to the facial expressions to catch them in lies.

The city is amazing, truly LA of the era from the traffic, to the gruddy streets to the red cars (which I haven't tried to see if you can ride...I doubt it.)

Only being in a few chapters the story is compelling and you get the feeling that something is hanging over our boy's head. The first few Chapters are rather tame and geared for training, but the first detective mission is rather complex.

If you are looking for a shooter, this ain't it. But if you are looking for something that will immerse you in the era. have a huge city to roam around in with other things to do and something that might stretch your brain with enough action to keep you busy this is a good buy.

LOL Cole I was going to use the word mysterious too.....but it sounded too...mysterious

Indoor lighting with bulbs was very yellow in the 30"sÃâà (they hadn't invented the soft white bulb yet, let alone florescent) The colors should be warm...IMHO

I favor #1Ãâà a little more moody, and little more 1930's....light bulbs weren't that good back then

Hey Asa,

As I was thinking about your room there it struck me that I really liked the lighting you did on it. Its one of those things a lot of people overlook when looking at things, but its really a supper job, the tile is dark and dingy and the corners are darker than the rest of the room....very nice

Meh, Initial impressions are not so good.....but they are just initial impressions. These things tend to take a while to grow on me.

M2 had better graphics , better cars and driving and better game mechanics (for all its vast and many flaws)Ãâà Getting screens off it is very iffy.

But the biggest problem I had is they can't even spell....

Thats two T's in Matteo BoysÃâà   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">
