This would be a really awesome mod to make!  You'd have to see about syncing the US Army Paratrooper who drives the Army Supply/Transport Duece and half truck in the Winter Missions. All you have to do to make the car is re-color, add the star and add the US Army text. I'll try it today on the car itself.

I've recently installed Mafia 2 for the PC again and I was REALLY hoping to get US ARMY REAL UNIFORMS by James but I noticed the download links are broken. I haven't found the mod ANYWHERE else and was hoping someone might know where I can get it at. I hate seeing that hidious Mafia 2 version of Vito's Dress Uniform and just love James' version! Hope someone can help me!

Mod Help / Help with editing dds files!
August 13, 2014, 07:28:52 PM
Hi all,

I'm in the process of creating Vito Scaletta's War Hero Service Uniform to be accurate with his WWII Service from 1943-1945.

I've gotten most of it done but I'm trying to figure out which part of the Service Uniform is left and right sleeve. I also was wondering about the other texture files(n.dds, sp.dds) and if I'm supposed to edit those and if so how do I go about editing them. I'm then trying to figure out how to put DDS files back into their SDS files so I can test it out and upload it.

If you need anymore questions, comment on here or PM me. This is my first edit so hopefully it works well!

Thanks,

D

Hi all,

I'm trying to locate the mod that Mike Bruski created in November 2011. He took all of the badges from the uniforms but the link is no longer active. http]

If anyone has the file or a link that I could possibly get that'd be great!

Hi all,

I've been in the process of recreating the Service Uniform/Service Dress that is included in the WAR HERO DLC that would reflect on Vito Scaletta's Service from 1943-1945 while with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne. Below will reflect on his decorations

Vito was drafted in either May 1943 or later(Born 5/2/25 and arrested when 18 Years Old) and would've participated in atleast 5-6 Campagins while with the 504th PIR: (Italian Campagins: Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Anzio) Battle of the Bulge, and Rhineland.

For these Campagins he would have the European-African-Middle Eastern Campagin Medal with 4 Campagin Stars and a Arrowhead Device(Parachute Jump)

He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge qualifying him for a Purple Heart, he was decorated with a DSC(Distinguished Service Cross: 2nd Highest US Army Decoration below the Medal of Honor) and I believe he would've also qualified for a Good Conduct Medal. As he was in the Military for about 1 Year and a half he was also awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for in combat and performing infantry duties and as he was in the 82nd Airborne he qualified for Parachutist Wings.

The file is still in W.I.P because there are only two problems: I need to resize the Parachutist Wings and the original insigina on the lapels of the Service Dress are still visible for some reason even though VITARMYd.dds and MIP_VITARMYd.dds do not have them on the file. I need help with the n.dds, s.dds and sp.dds files. I don't exactly understand how to edit those but if I do find out I believe the uniform will be ready to be uploaded.

If anyone has any questions feel free to comment or PM me. ENJOY THE PICTURES!

Credit to mafiascene.net User OfficerPuppy for originally editing and creating the Template that I used to finish the uniform. Credit to myself for the researching and historical accuracy on Vito Scaletta's Service Uniform. The only problemswith it is the Dress Shoes, Belt, and the Pockets which is inaccurate for Enlisted Men in World War II. There isn't a belt on Enlisted Men's Tunics and the Pockets should be without a line and the pocket flap style.

This will be available for public use later tomorrow.
