Hello, I am trying to figure out how to mod the general police, civilian, and gangster behavior in Mafia 1. For example, I mean how to modify the behavior of a police person walking down the street in freeride. Also the police and mobsters in cars as part of the default traffic in freeride. Surely there must be some script they are running on somewhere but I cannot find anything in BSV 3.0. Any help?

Did you tried DC||ED?

With this program you can configure the traffic and pedestrians   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

so why cant we access some of the more hard wired code? tools were created to read the scene.bin files and all that, what is the difference?

being able to change what general traffic and people do would be huge. could have people committing crimes against other people. Mobsters randomly attacking you instead of just defending themselves against you. paying random people walking down the street to become your bodyguard. lots of possibilities...

Its coded deep it the game files not in scene2.bin.

For example taxi driving is a very complex script which you active by just one command.

And that script is in a text file.These Default behaviours are coded in files like this.You can edit the pedestrians which should normally go into taxi to be your bodyguards but its really not easy for a Newbie.

If you want bodyguards.I can give you my script i used in Johnys Hideout mod .

yea, ive played around with taxi mods but what I would want to do I wouldnt want to start with you in a taxi. If there was a way to just make a random civilian walking down the street attack you with a weapon, thats the kind of thing I want. I guess I just dont get why we have been able to hack into the taxi script but not other things, like the script for when a person you are carjacking will attack you or not. It seems to me that these scripts should all be on the same 'level' of the programming if you will.

I suppose that civilians too have a certain number of agressivity (just like when you spawn a character through Bscript view).But i have no idea where might that information be stored.But there are i think 3 types of civilians(dummy2,dummy3..) like the ones from chinatown,works quarter,little italy,new yark.The only difference  is really just a model and place where they go.So maybe if you can find a file where agressivity of pedestrians is being stored you can make a new civilian object through Check.bin and apply that behaviour just for them so not every civilian will attack you.But i have no idea if this will work its just the only way ive got in mind how to do it.Because civilian behaviour is not defined in scene2.bin.

Darren what do you think?
