I did this before a couple years ago but lost all and forgot exactly how I did it. I want to replace the leather biker jacket in the dlc greaser file.

I have RIcks tools but the decompreser and decrypter never worked for me but I have done it with just the ExploreSDS tool. I can open the sds file and find the texture and save that texture to the desktop, then I use DXTBMP to open it and send it to my paint shop pro program. I can change it orÃâà paint it or add names an such and then save and reopen the saved file back in DXTBMP. I then save that file as it was, DDS1. I can then put it back into the ExploreSDS tool and save archive to the original file. Nothing changes even though I can open the original texture file and it shows all changes. Am I saving in the wrong format? I tried DDS5 and it saved but the texture was scrambled in the game.

Here is something interesting, you can see the logo I put on the back of the jacket in the mirror but not on the guy.

You do it by editing the 512x512 file instead of the large 1024x1024.

Thanks Mike, great to find this site and get back into this again.

Here is what I have from the greaser player file.

This image is the one I edited and the first texture on the list and I think it was a 512 texture.

The 2nd texture is the spec map and this is the 3rd texture that I assume is the bumpmap?

The 4th texture is a shadow map? It is only light and dark with no detail.

The rest are glass dds

Got it sorted, had the wrong sds tool. All good now.
