I have done alot of searching around for the past month, and it appears that it is almost impossible to do a proper christmas modification due to no way the the time of editing the city with christmas lights, only thing I find we can do is texture billboards or logo's with christmas styling, but besides that I find there is no actual way to make christmas like the Mafia II Holiday Trailer, if anyone has any idea's or thoughts, please share, it would be AWESOME to have a christmas mod for this christmas.

Santa was a murderer, the trial of George Marcotte

The trial of George Marcotte. On December 14, 1962, at 11 hours and 12 minutes exactly the morning, guests and staff of the branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, located at 6007 Chemin Cote de Liesse, Saint-Laurent, in the suburbs of Montreal, were surprised to see Santa entering the facility. But they were not after their surprise. At 11 hours and 19 minutes, departing Santa Claus was missing $ 142,000 in the vault of the bank, and agents and Denis Claude Marineau Brabant, the police of St. Lawrence in a pool of blood outside the bank. The agent Marineau had died, the agent Brabant, dying. Santa Claus was more than wrong. Flanked by two sidekicks, his face covered with silk stockings, Santa Claus was Gunmen George Marcotte. This book tells how Justice went through to prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that George Marcotte was Santa Claus and that the December 14, 1962 ... Santa Claus was a murderer!

It a Real story

Man... that scene at the end of that trailer with the cars and the snow and the flashing signs and spotlights... that was the thing that got me most excited for this game.

Walking down that same street isn't the same in the final version, the city feels void of life... but in that trailer, it was bustling with activity.

What I think would make the game feel more alive is to have more neon signs and traffic... it may or may not be possible but currently Midtown has virtually no traffic on its streets, while in that trailer, it is very busy.

So, does anyone think it is possible to increase the traffic density and add a few lighted signs here and there? Or is it just something that can't be done?

I agree with you entirely Resident, I was thrilled to see Mafia II announced, but the holiday trailer got be HYPED! I was extremely thrilled that Mafia II would have christmas, and the atmosphere looked so BEAUTIFUL, and then the final game rolls around and where was everything they showed to us in trailers!?!?!?

Concerning abilities atm, increasing traffic in Midtown is possible, but for us to make the city like the trailer in 09' we need 3D World Editors, with the option to import and export models into Mafia II, sadly at the moment there is no tools at hand to do so, the best we can do is traffic and textures, and the textures do nothing really, we want lights, and christmas tree's and even santa's on the streets like salvation army, hopefully by next christmas the tools will be available and we can make an incredible christmas modification.

Yeah, that really sucked. I think they said somewhere that the trailer cutscene wasn't going to be in the final game, but still, I was expecting to be able to go into the Church at some point, or at least have some of Christmas decorations up...

Ah ok. Well, there is hope at least.   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

For the traffic, I assume you would use Rick's Tools and edit the car_universal.sds? Or perhaps there is another .sds file that controls the traffic in Midtown specifically?
