I'm so glad that I found this thread, I also had the same issue as OP (menu appeared but nothing happened when I clicked on it)

I followed everything you wrote but I still can't get it to work for some reason, do you have any ideas?

What I've done:

Install: mod  = cnt_empire_bay.rar

Install: update patch = cnt_empire_bay_1.3.1

After that I made a duplicate of the two 'ru' folders as mentioned above and renamed the clone as the english version:

dlc_datarussian  to: dlc_dataenglish

cnt_empire_baysds_ru to: cnt_empire_baysds_en

(Didn't work for me at this point compared to OP)

I have also overwritten the Empire_Bay.zip files to the "sds_language" gui folder/s (Thanks for the upload btw!)

I have no other mods installed, so there shouldn't be any issues regarding the compatibility.

P.S: I removed "cnt_joes_adventures" from the dlc folder as well before attempting to start the mod.

I ran out of ideas, so in case any of you have another idea, I really appreciate it!

Leave the folder named as russian in the dlc_data folder, it doesn't really make a different and it'll just give errors but edit the content file using notepad and find sds_ru and replace it with sds_en if that doesnt work just rename it sds_ru it doesn't matter

If anyone else wants the english version LMK I'll upload it to the downloads section

If you mean the full mod with the English adjustments that you've completed so far, then i think that would be a great idea.

It would make it a darn sight easier for a lot of peeps ,i would download it too, just to have it in one file.

If  i haven't played the game for a while ,i sometimes forget what files go where

when it comes to installing mods.

Well, i meant the only version that is available is a Russian version.

So any or all  improvements you have made should definitely be uploaded as an easy to install mod.

Then people will know where to go when they want the best available  English version.

A lot of people are not good at editing mod files,so it would be good for lots of Mafia 2 fans if there is an easy to install addon .

edit:

Maybe you could do it with a Bat file which would auto move the joes adventure dlc folder out of the way.

Maybe not <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

Just a thought.
