QuoteMafiascnene.com well its dead   <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">  here its not Mafiascene its just a website with same name but it does the job for what its supposed to be.

Just what is the job this site is suppose to do? I have refrained from posting here but have been watching this thread. All I see is a critique of this site. This site isnt Mafiascene.com and never claimed to be. Mike and I wanted to create a place for people to feel welcome and mod the games without the site going down every day. We have built it to what it is today. You have a lot of false premises about this site. It ok for you to have your opinion about this site but frankly we're all a little tired of you bashing our internet home.  This topic is "Why Mafia Scene Community is Dying" not "Criticize Mafiascene.net".

CrAzY3AGL3 didn't say anything wrong. He's just sorry for see that people he liked so much are not interested in Mafia game or Mafiascene anymore. But he also respects that it's not fault of this site or "new" comunnity.

Think positively guys! I think we are great comunitty even if qauntity of us is less. Like I said, it's not our faul, gold days of Mafia are definitely gone. We are people who will love it forever, that's what we have in common and because of that, we shouldn't argue!

The problem with this once great community diminishing has nothing to do with a single website going down. Members are not flocking here because they don't care about this franchise anymore and that is all 2K Games fault. They destroyed this community when they butchered Mafia II.

Let's face the facts, Mafia II was nothing like the original Mafia. Mafia II was a major disappointment that took 8 years to create and on top of that it is not modder friendly. There is very little a community can rally behind when we get shafted like this.

Personally I believe that is the consoles to blame.

Mafia was made for the pc only and then ported to the consoles, while Mafia 2 was made for all platforms from the start, thus the game was going to be restricted from the start. If Mafia 2 was going to be made for the pc first, I think we would of seen a different game altogether because it would of not been held back because of the system requirements of the consoles.

Deus Ex went the same way with Invisible war

Gaming itself has also changed, it's all about the masses now and niche games like the original Mafia are not seen as money makers; everything has to be made with "dumbed down" player in mind now. So many great franchises have now lost their "Great" part just to be a cash cow for the publishers; sad but true.

Yup you are absolutely right. But players are getting tired of it more and more. You can see it on youtube comments  <img src="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/biggrin.png" alt="" data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20">

That's true. In past, you could buy datadiscs to get completely new storyline. Now you have to buy DLC's to unlock things that are already ingame.

But nonsense is that 2K Games forum has a lot of active users and Mafia Scene suffers from that they cut the content from Mafia 2. That's my opinion about it.

But we are mostly hard fans of Mafia 1 and we expected Mafia II to be as great game as Mafia is.

Maybe after the release of Mafia III we will have a bigger comunity.

MIII hasn't been announced yet but it was reported that 2K-Czech participated on developing GTA V in return that Rockstar would help them working on MIII or something like that.

Also if someone ever cracks MII's data, I'm sure the modding community will grow a lot faster.

The engine MII uses is perfect for many projects. Hell, I would emedietly port the Titanic mod to it if possible.

They already made a exporter for MII's files to 3ds max, so with a bit of hope they will make a reversed one some day.

You're welcome.

And about that Mafia III, I don't really know... If it will be released, it will be game from completely new people and it won't have anything in common with Mafia 1.
