There was a sale on Steam recently, they sold Mafia I for 2.50 Euros, and being a longtime fan of the game, I didn't even consider not buying it. Well, so I'm really excited, download and install the game, set the settings, run the game...

It runs all fine but there is something wrong with the graphics: namely, the cigar and the stove in the menu, and bullet hit effects, blood and some other things in game look as if they were projecting rays, the cigar smoke in particular looks like a green laser shotgun. In a flame, some parts are displaced or 'stretched':

They are a bit transparentish, but should be clearly visible.

I've been searching for a while but noone else seems to have this problem. I am using this on Win7 64-bit, with Intel Core i5 and GeForce GT540M. On my old desktop with WinXP it used to work all fine.

I'd be extremely grateful if anyone could help me fix this thing so that the great game of Mafia can be enjoyed properly " data-emoticon="" srcset="/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20"> .

Welcome, sir  You can introduce yourself in Welcome Board.

If it's about your problem, check if:

1. You have installed the newest drivers for your graphic card.

2. You have checked your settings in Setup.exe -> http]

3. You have adjusted your options in Options ingame.

Let me know if it works

Much thanks to both of you sirs . I didn't feel like introducing since I'm coming from the old forum, but I'm more of a lurker, hehe. Anyway, I updated my drivers, set the setting like you asked to and behold...! Nothing at all happened ;(. If any of you could post an original rw_data.dll file though, it could help, I think I have modified it with Xtractor one as soon as I got the game (to install MFE mod)

Hmm when i think about this now.I think ive had this kind of bug before.I think ive solved it by re-installation.Try reinstalling the game and if that wont work update the game on 1.2 version.(btw you should find the correct crack though if you want to patch it otherwise it wont work and the only thing you will achieve is you will be pissed )-happened to me many times

Thank you for your help; unfortunately, it didn't work. I guess I'll just have to live with this.
