The Titanic Mod
#61
Quoted from my website's F.A.Q. :

Quote:When will the mod release?

I made several release dates in the past, but due to setbacks or busy periods in my personal life I could not live up to them. I therefore decided to remove the release date and percent bar untill I get a solid planning and idea of when things can be completed and how long it will take.
That doesn't mean that progres will take another year or something. I'll still do my best together with my team to finish this project as soon as possible, but still with the aimed quality.

thanks for the update

Time for some updates!

here's are the first 2 screenshots of the 1st class lounge being made.
Textures are made using photo's from Olympic's Lounge and edit them.

Thanks for the update Mr Robville, looking nice Smile

Thanks!
Here's a new one:

Some more details have been added. These textures take a lot of time to create because of a slight diffrence in each panel, but the result pays off. (see the pilar and the support of the divider wall, same model, diffrent texture)
The Texture for the entrance door is a nice one, I didn't had to do much about it. In fact, it is an actual photo from the same entrance on onlympic's Lounge. This piece of woodwork is still preserved at the White swan hotel in Alnwick, England.

For those interested in a little "did you know?" The left upper part of the entrance paneling is the same piece of wood where rose lies on in the 1997 film.

I am really looking forward, nice job!
But, I'm little afraid of the hardware requirements Sad
#69
Thanks for the kind comments!

vapno92, can you show me your system specifications?
#70
I only have Athlon 64 on 2,4GHz, 2GB RAM and GF7300GT 256MB graphic card. I am really sceptic about the run this mod.
#71
I have a 1280x1024 LCD and CPU is only single-core. I know, my PC is maybe little bit "old-fashioned" but it's strong enough for what I want to do and it's built from a "gifts" (old hardware).
BTW: I really like Water Shader Mod for Mafia. What about to including it in your modification?
#72
Then I'm really looking forward to play it Smile
#73
Sounds interesting, Mr Robville. I think that will be one of my favourite modifications :cheer:
#74
Personnaly i would just like to walk all around it and let my imagination do the rest, you can't just look at a piece of art when you let your imagination you smell the scent of the wood, all the music from the ballroom, the smell from the kitchen.

Specialy that is 100 years that we lost that piece of art

Thank-you for keeping it alive so well

Beleive it or not in a survey youngsters thought that the TITANIC was a movie
they were amaze that was real

I need to get into contact with MR F to ask him how he made this and if/how I can use it into the Titanic mod.
Though it's adviced to turn Anti Alias down to 2X or none, because if higher, the game's performance really decreases a lot.

Awesome mod!

About your specs, As far as I know, AMD processors are not well known for games, they are better in the 3D rendering industry. But your ammount of GHZ seems to be ok. Mafia doesn't support multiple cores anyway.
Ofcourse I'm not 100% certain as I never tried any computer like that.
Your GPU card seems too low indeed, with only 265mb. I believe you'll need at least 512mb, but with todays graphics cards, you have a 1GB GPU for little money. Also your RAM could be a problem I think, considering that windows eats like 1GB from it, and other processes are running on the background. 4GB as the minimum is a recomendation. Also Memory doesn't cost much these days.

But besides hardware I would recommend running the game using gamebooster, it really helps increasing the frames.

@CP
I will do my best to get the atmosphere onboard the ship right. And it seems very possible for me.
In earlier stages of the interior being tested, I played a song "An der schönen blauen Donau" from Strauss on the background, and it really set the atmosphere right. It really had this classy feeling throughout the first class corridors and rooms. And thinking of the dirty boiler rooms below deck only increases this feeling.
#76
That will be fantastic :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
#77
Finally I see model of your ship. Good work with it B)
#78
Thanks!

I just finished some more work on the 1st class lounge. This time I finished both sides of the room with the alcoves.

Fantastic work as always. Smile

Thanks!
I got some good news, Mr F replied to my PM and said it's fine for me to use his mod into the MTM!
Now we'll have to figure out how to make it animated like if the ship is sailing.
